The client, a mid-size primarily market residential developer, owner, and operator in Boston, desired to upgrade to 7s while leaving behind several relatively deep customization’s that were being used the 14 year old Voyager 6 platform. Staff was accustomed to these customization’s, which involved both Voyager and accompanying reports, leading to an entrenched mentality that an upgrade would be impossible without them. This led to a missed Go Live, and Adler PPT was engaged for another effort that would successfully build on the original project.
Project Approach
The client, in the first attempt, utilized a “task force” approach for each functional area. This approach was great for buy-in, but the process was drawn out due to differences of opinion of various task force members. Adler PPT utilized the same task forces, but reduced their size for faster decision making, retaining key task force members and making sure that they were empowered to make decisions on behalf of the company. Extensive testing was performed with multiple scenarios to insure that all stakeholder’s needs were being met. The project achieved its Go Live goal and the upgrade was successful.
